NAME
hostname - set or print the name of the current host system
SYNOPSIS
hostname [NAME]
hostname OPTION
DESCRIPTION
Print or set the hostname or domainname of the current system.
Output format:
- -s, --short
- short host name
- -f, --fqdn, --long
- long host name, includes fully qualified domain name, and aliases
- -i, --ip-address
- addresses for the hostname
- -d, --dns, --domain
- DNS domain name
- -y, --yp, --nis
- NIS/YP domain name
Informative output:
- --help
- display this help and exit
- --version
- output version information and exit
